Is there for this purpose any alternative to Calendar 366 ? I am visually-impaired, and the tiny text used by that app has defeated me.

Week Calendar. The font is an incremental bit larger in search results.

Did you try dark mode in Calendar 366? Easier to read for me.
Have a look at pocket Informant. You can change font size and search back as far as you want.

On 2nd thoughts, Yes, I am finding it a good deal more legible using dark mode. Thank you for that, very helpful. But I still cannot work out how to set the app so as to enable me to search more than the last 12 months of events.

I’ve been using Fantastical (free version) for many years, and I’ve just successfully searched back to an entry in 2012!
Absolutely right ! Thank you, I shall give that a try. Though just at the moment I cannot fiind anything about Font-size in Settings.

Yes, you’re quite right, I only checked for past dates and not for text size.
I’ve been through settings and I don’t think you can change the size or font unfortunately.

In iOS 15, you can in fact change text-size in individual applications such as Fantastical, using Control Centre. I am in any event most grateful for your help. I shall probably continue to use the native Calendar in iOS for my current appointments, because its default display of the current week is so much better than Fantastical's. I can then go to Fantastical when I need to review past appointments. A big, big step forward for me, I can tell you.

On the left side of the search field is a tiny gearwheel to touch and get selector wheels for start and end date.
