Heads up for those who think they have a large wrist. Just got the large loop and its way too big. It wont fit at all. My fault for not measuring. On regular watches Im usually on one of the last 2 holes, so I just figured large was the way to go. I also have the link, and I just had to remove 2 links to make it work. Its hard to imagine a wrist big enough to need it.

Greetings,

The leather loop is crazy super long! What's sad is that I went to the Apple Store on April 11th first thing and ordered three bands right there at my try on appointment. They told me I was trying on the large, but it came today and it is too big! I went to Apple Store Sherman Oaks where they told me that I would need to call 1-800-My-Apple in order to setup an expedited exchange but it shouldn't take more than 24 hours.

Upon calling Apple they told me that the exchange cannot be done at this time and I can ONLY return the band. They told me that while the online system says 2-4 weeks, they're internal system said the estimated ship date was "July". I told her I was only referring to the band and not the watch and she assured me that it was "July".

At this point I'm waiting on a return shipping label and then I'm debating trying to order a medium online. I did measure myself though and the large is the right one for me, it's just too big. and touches the face of the watch when wrapped around.

Definitely beware when you order!

Dave

Thanks for letting us know and I'm sorry to hear that its not going to work.

I have been concerned about this too and have held off on ordering a leather loop until I read some real-world feedback.

If both of you don't mind, can you post your wrist measurement so we can compare it to Apple's sizing charts? It may help myself and others when deciding which size we should really go with.

Thanks!

Greetings,

I measure at 190mm and checked it again. The Large says it is for 180mm and higher but the medium is plenty acceptable unless you're wanting to wrap it all the way around to the watch face.

I hope this helps!

Best,

Dave

I guess I have to go back to the Apple store and try it on again. I don't want it too short or the end will be at the bottom of the wrist. I think it will bother me when i type for instance. Kind of like a buckle. I thought when I tried mine on it did wrap quite a bit, but was still about a half an inch from the end. Now that I know I need to wear it a bit tighter, I'll need to double check it.

Thanks for the heads up.

I am assuming you can't just trim it because the magnet seems to be just at the end? Any other thoughts on that?

Glad I ordered Medium. I wear the S/M sport band on the fifth hole from the watch. Hopefully the medium isn't longer than I'd like.

That makes no sense to me. You cannot be 190mm if the large leather loop is too big and wraps around to the watch face itself. Can you post a picture?

Also it says L on the back of the large Leather Loop, so you could have checked (if you knew this, of course!) in the store. Either way, it sounds like you're not really 190mm.

Here's me wearing the large in the Apple Store. I'm about 187mm. Size is perfect and means I can take off the watch without having to un-loop the entire band (which is a pain on the medium one).

While my wrist isn't tiny, it's not huge either. The large is perfect for me. The end of the loop is about midway between the metal part that the loop goes through and the attachment to the watch.

I tried the long leather loop at an Apple Store and iT was really long, even stuck up when I tried to get a tight grip

Definitely go with medium unless you have huge wrists, the 42mm fits me pretty well FYI

I went to my try on specifically for that reason but I totally forgot to check the size. I had to book another appointment to find out my size ugh. It was so hard to go and the the apple watches again jk. :p

I have a 190mm wrist and was concerned as to which size to order. I went back to the store and was surprised the size I that felt the best was the M. The L was HUGE.

My wrist is 180mm almost exactly and the large was way too big. I imagine it would be for someone's whose wrist is 190mm too.

My Large loop arrived today, as feared it's too big. On a positive note my blue leather one shipped today, due for delivery tomorrow, only ordered it on Monday!

I'm in the same boat but mine wraps around to just below the watch face. I've been considering returning it but then got to thinking that this may be "safer" for the watch...meaning, less chance of it coming undone and/or if it does come undone somehow, it is long enough to catch before it falls...it also has more parts magnetically holding it on too...

One other thing to consider is temperature...your wrist expands and contracts with changes in temp and the fit can feel different depending if you're in a hot/humid (e.g. outside) climate or a colder/dryer climate (e.g. inside).

Anyway, pic below of where mine fastens...still on the fence if I should consider returning it for the medium band...

Hi All:

I bought a large leather loop and need medium instead. Will Apple exchange for Medium, will it be new? Or do I have to return the entire watch?

I'm curious what hole you use on the Sports Band (if you have one). I'm right in the middle hole of the M/L sports band and am torn on which size leather loop to get. And I live too far away from an Apple Store to make the drive.

Thanks!

I use the middle hole on the M/L Sport Band too. After using the Leather Loops, I would go with the Medium. I really liked the Large, but on a cold day (wrist shrink) it got too close to hitting the screen when on slightly tighter. Medium will be perfect for you.

Thanks so much for the insight. Medium it is!

Can someone quantify exactly how much longer the large size band is vs. the medium? In inches, magnetic segments, anything else?

I just got the medium, and it seems to fit fine. It goes to about the middle of my wrist when adjusted to my preferred sizing -- exactly halfway between the watch face and the opening on the end of the other strap (I counted the leather segments). I'm just wondering how much longer the large size would be. It might be nice to be able to keep the band looped when taking it off (I can't do that with the medium). BUT I don't want the band to reach all the way to the watch face. I wish I had time to make the trip to the Apple Store to try the bands on myself. Unfortunately, I won't have time for at least a couple weeks.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I measured the medium band. The long piece of the band is 180 mm and the short piece is 48 mm.

Someone measured their large, and it was 195 mm for the long pIece of the band. Does anyone know what the short piece measures?
