I just received my Airpods Max and am very disappointed.

I have a large head (size 8 baseball cap) and the APM's are too small for me to comfortably wear.

Based on my measurement they are about .5 to .75 inches smaller than my very comfortable Bose QC35 headphones. I measured top of headband to center of earcup.

I loved the sound and volume control watching Apple TV and using Tidal. I wished they had provided another 20% expansion on the stainless rods for sizing.

Beware large head users (maybe 1-2% of population) as you will probably return these as I unfortunately will. They barely fit and the clamping force and smaller size is not acceptable.

I will add I’m near the opposite end of the spectrum (extend each side about .6”) and am surprised a bit by the clamping force and overall extension, which I’m about halfway thru. I agree, can’t see how they work on large sized heads.

Considering how big younger men are getting, it seems more so like the top 10 percentile or so wouldn’t be able to use these.
