Setting up a 2012 mac mini for my sister, for mostly browsing, but also to store all her photos from the iCloud. I know I can run an external SSD, but also want to have a spinning drive for photos and maybe a time machine portion for a secondary backup.

Do they make a 2TB spinning drive that fits in a mac mini?

Whats the largest size you can get that will fit in a mini?

Any HD's isn particular that fit inside the mac mini well, I'd like to put two in.

a 2TB ssd is way too expensive for this project an extra 500GB SSD I have combined with a regular HD would be a perfect combination.

I can tell you that in my 2012 mini, I have a 256gb SSD as the primary drive and a Seagate Firecuda 2tb spinner as the secondary drive. I did have to purchase the 2nd drive kit to do so.
