I was wondering if Apple was doing laser engraving on their IPhones like they do to their IPods. If so I can wait to have one shipped to me as long as it has something sweet engraved in the back!

From the website, it doesn't appear so.... yet.

I'd have someone like the gentleman above do it... more flexibility than just 2 lines of text from Apple.

I saw one with some graphics on it that looked dope. I think I want to get something done to mine....

The reliability of the iPhone is not quite that of the iPods. I bought two iPhones in July. One was bad out of the box. Apple is good about warranty service and the "Geniuses" at the Apple store are usually good about swapping phones. Apple will refurbish the iPhones it takes in and re-sell them (as refurbished). If it's engraved, you're definately not getting it swapped out. I, too, like the laser engraving, but will forego it on the iPhone.
