I sent my last rev. 15" PB in for repair. It had lost a key and it was affected by the lines issue. 5 weeks later (today to be more exact), after giving Apple alot of hassle for taking so long, they decided to give me a brand new 15" MBP 1.83 GHz.
It's really nice. No whine, a bit hotter than the PB but no problem at all.

Just wanted to share my joy with you guys :D

Sometimes they do come through. My 15" MBP was supposed to be sent in for replacement on Saturday of last week. When the 17" was announced on Monday I wanted to trade up. They changed my replacement order to a straight return and ordered me the 17" version instead.

Pretty cool.

I said this in another thread but this is the first time that I was happy to have been sent a defective product :D

Awesome! Do you have to pay the difference or did they pay it?

Tell us about it when you get it please!

Yes. Totally maxed out. I didn't get the faster drive though. Went for the larger hard disc instead. I did some reading and the jury was still out on whether the faster drive speed would have a noticeable difference.

I hope they are as kind to me with my PM - good for you, though. :D

I've been following your issues and a) man, you have had some rotten luck and b) you are one patient individual.

Anything happen after you sent Steve the email?

Is a Quad with 2 GB RAM and 7800 GTX 256 MB GDDR3 faster in performance than a 100% souped up 17" MBP (7.200 rpm. drive, 2 GB RAM?)
