Yesterday, my late 2009 21.5" iMac's screen now acts like a 27" display ( or larger).

I have gone to settings - 1920x1080 - detect monitor, but the image projected on my screen no longer fits. I need to push the mouse around to go from side to side or up and down because the image is now much bigger than my 21.5" monitor :(.

This is happening in all programs. I have shut down and restarted, still the same.

How to I get my image to fit the size of my monitor again?

Thanks
Dave

That's the screen zoom feature.

Use the control (CTRL) key + the scroll "wheel" of your mouse to zoom in or out of the screen.

To turn it off: System Preferences > Universal Access.

I think you turned zoom on.

Try holding down the command key ( or was it control? try both ) and scrolling up and down on the mouse.
