My MBA came with Snow Leopard 10.6 on it & I have ran every OS X except 10.10. I have had 10.6.8 running on it for a long time now for many reasons but mainly because Snow Leopard is my favorite OS X.

Those of you with comparable MBA's out there running El Capitan give me your opinions of how well these old-ish MBA's perform with 10.11.

I have it installed on my late 2008 MacBook Air. It performs similarly to Mavericks 10.9.5, but is less of a memory hog on the 2 GB RAM. Obviously not Snow Leopard-level performance, but adequate if you want a modern OS.

Thanks for the reply redheeler.

I'm going to guess by the amount of response that not many have liked El Capitan on MBA's like this.

i would backup your computer, then upgrade and see how it works with your software set. if it doesnt work, you can always go back.
