Late 2012 iMac stand

We’re trying to figure out if this is possible to remove. In all technicalities, the hard drive isn’t removable but managed that easily enough by removing the screen. Has anybody removed the stand from their 27” late 2012 iMac?

Sure you can remove it, but why? Are you trying to mount it? The rear enclosure insides are different on the VESA mountable iMac's 2012 and newer so you can't just swap the foot on and off like the older iMacs.
