Hello.
I have a 15.4" late-2013 MBP.
For years, it was my non-workhorse computer. So, not many miles.
Over the past year, the situation has changed; it's been my daily go-to.
It's running Big Sur, and is still a lovely machine, 'fast' and all that.
Recently, I've been getting these colourful, fleeting flashes of lines. They don't happen regularly. But as I've been an Apple user for about 35 years, I know when something deserves my attention.
Should I start shopping for a replacement screen?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

In your case getting a replacement screen will most likely not be feasible. The cost of those screens can run 300-400$ and exceed the current value of you system. You money will be better spend saving for a newer system, since this system is also no longer getting updates (can be patched with OCLP). Another thing is that it might be your GPU failing in which case buying an expensive screen is a huge waste of your money.

I think I’m getting the same issue with my 2014 15”. Not necessarily colorful flash but still a quick flash. Happens rarely but I feel like I’m noticing it more. Feels like I have to finally pull the trigger on a new MacBook.
