Your old CPU HAS to fit in the socket, otherwise, you've got the wrong motherboard.
And yes, 21.5" iMac 2013 will take i7-4770s

It doesn’t make any sense , how can I get the wrong motherboard ? everything fits in place and motherboard looks identical . as far as I can see on everymac site there is a 2013 21,5 “imac with i5 2.7 and there is another edition late 2013 with i7 4770s so maybe the switched proccesor types during that year.

i just want to know what processors fits this motherboard ..the rest I can hadle
is this late 2013 socket 1150 or 1155

Do you have the 27" iMac or the 21.5"? Because, if I remember correctly, some of the late-2013 models have soldered Haswell CPUs. At least the 21.5" models.

it is a 21,5 “ , none of the boards have soldered cpu’s as I stated earier I allready tried swaping proccesor from one to the other , everymac says that the proccesor is slodered and gives no further details

Ah, OK. The soldered CPU is for example the 4570R or any other version, that has the Iris Pro integrated GPU.

https://www.macrumors.com/2013/09/25/ifixit-tears-down-new-imacs-finds-soldered-cpu-on-21-5-model/

EDIT: Sorry, the same is written for the 4570S model. Look:
Apple iMac "Core i5" 2.9 21.5-Inch (Late 2013) Specs

EDIT2: for every 21.5-inch Late 2013 iMac models, there is only one info for the CPU -> "soldered"
https://everymac.com/systems/by_year/macs-released-in-2013.html

[doublepost=1507410337][/doublepost]I am asking you once again: are you sure, you have a late 2013, 21.5-inch iMac logicboard in front of you?

Could you please share you Abour this Mac screen?

Mactracker also advises the late 2013 21/.5" iMac has a soldered CPU. What does Apple System profiler (Aboiut this Mac) say for the model number under Hardware Review? The 2012 and late 2013 iMac use different video cards. It is possible you did purchase it in late 2013 and still be the 2012 model.

The 2013 has either an Intel Iris Pro 5200 or NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M.

guys, I am not shure that you understood the situation so I try to. rbeak it down for you

I have a 21,5 imac i5 2,7 with a defective motherboard , I bought a new motherboard from ebay and it was advertised that it is a custom board made to order and it will take the i7 4770s 3.1 proccesor

I tried putting the 2.7 i5 from my broken board but it does not fit

from what i understand my broken imac has a ivybridge socket 1155 and into the new board I need to put haswell , what socket is that ? 1150?

so I just want to know what proccesor fits the new board wich is a custom late 2013 with 1gb vram

iMac Late 2013 - Haswell LGA 1150
iMac Late 2012 - Ivy Bridge LGA 1155
If you have Ivy Bridge then you have a late 2012 not late 2013

Hey I'm bringing back this topic as I planned to do a CPU upgrade of my father late 2013 21,5 iMac. And the one he has is the one with the iris pro...

The one on the right here. 4570R
As you can see; the one on the right is same generation...
but when you look at the socket, it`s not the same

I think the R version uses a socket like a laptop. maybe not soldered....

Can some someone confirm that I cannot put a 4770S before i open the machine ?

Thanks
