In my practice, when I’m in my office and not meeting with clients, I’m at my desk running our web-based firm management program in Firefox on a few tabs, outlook, adobe reader, word and excel. The 27” has a lot of screenspace, but it’s still not quite enough for everything I need to see at once. Several of our attorneys have three monitor set-ups on their PC’s (and the same goes for our paralegals) because of the amount of stuff going. As such, I want to have two external monitors (one for outlook and one for our web based program) and place everything on mounts to save space, and that leads me to the following questions:
1) I have a late 2014 27” i5 running Mojave with 8gb of DDR3 and the stock 290x. Will running two external monitors eat up a lot of my memory to the point that running all of these programs (with multiple windows/docs for excel/word/pdf open at once along with the aforementioned outlook and web based management program) will cause a massive slow down on 8gb of ddr3?
2) I know I need a VESA adapter for the iMac, but what type of three/tiple monitor stand/mount would you recommend that can handle the iMac’s weight?
Note: I am 6’5”, and I want to increase the heigh on everything to avoid having to bend my neck down. So, yes, I know the iMac is tall, but it still isn’t eye level on my desk. Also, I’m aware of the benefits of a standing desk, but that isn’t in the cards for other reasons at this point. It may be in the future though.
