Hi all,

It looks like the GPU (R9 M390 2GB) in my late 2015 27" retina iMac has failed.

While using the iMac, the screen went blank and then solid blue with the odd line running vertically. I am having the same issue when restarting; the iMac goes into a reboot loop several times. I can boot into safe mode easily enough, but I'm assuming this will run on reduced drivers?

It is also worth noting that I have no peripherals, short of the wireless mouse/keyboard, plugged in.

I've tried numerous suggested fixes such as latest OS, running hardware diagnosis, running Disk Utility first aid etc. All of which have not resolved the problem.

Please can anyone suggest anything else I can try on the software/firmware side of things before writing off this logic board?

Thanks in advance for your help

If you boot from a usb disk, for example an usb macOS install disk, do you still have the issue?
Maybe it is something OS related......I really hope for you......

Unfortunately I don't have an external device to boot from, but thanks for the suggestion. I can certianly find a way of giving this a go!

Does anyone else have any other ideas? I'm losing hope now! :(
