Late 2016 MBP and Finder

I own a late 2016 MBP15 operating under 10.12.3 Beta 4. What I am going to describe was also present in 10.12.2.

i frequently move files between folders. After selecting several files, I would like to hold move them to drag them to the new folder. This process fails as I am unable to drag to the new folder and must resort to the short cuts.

Has anyone else noticed this on their late 2016 MBPs?

BTW. Not an issue with early 2014 MBA operating under 10.12.2.

I have noticed the same problem on my 13" nTB running 10.12.2. In my case, problem sometimes occurs when dragging between two finder windows in column view: it just won't grab them for dragging. No noticeable difference between dragging one or multiple files. After numerous tries it usually works though (by the way, I feel confident in my trackpad skills). Cmd+C and Cmd + V as a last resort…

Another problem I have is when trying to drag files from a folder in the dock (i.e. the Downloads folder) to a different folder by dragging it on top of the Finder icon. It does open a new Finder window, but it sometimes won’t let me navigate through the file system in the Finder window in column view while dragging the file to drop it.

The reason is : the "force touch" feature of the trackpad.

One could say that Force Touch on a trackpad is a bad idea.

Honestly, it’s not the Force Touch. I know how to distinguish between hard pressing for Quicklook/Search/… (two clicks) and pressing for drag/drop. Also, it sometimes works just fine, and sometimes does not. Not everything is a bug, I know, but I think this could very well be.

Test : disable the Force Touch in System Preferences / trackpad.

Or keep the Force Touch enabled, and put less pressure on the trackpad before dragging and item.

This is exactly what I had to learn to do on my aunt's new 2016 MBP. My mid-2012 doesn't have Force Touch, of course, and I guess I was already using enough pressure to invoke FT on the new trackpad.

Thank you for your help. What I did not realize is that there are "two levels" of force touch. Pressing lightly allow for the first level to activated and allows me to draw files to a folder. Press two hard and one brings in the second level of force touch which activates the preview.
