Remember the first iPhone? Some features were announced later closely to the release (like the YouTube app).

Can the same thing happen to the iPad? Some features which will be announced later? What about a camera? Even though I still think there will be no camera announcement, isn't it very weird Apple is offering an camera kit (which you can't even order yet!)?

Okay, maybe no camera, but what about the other apps which are standard on the iPhone. I mean, come on, there's a compass in the iPad but there's no compass app. So it will be only usable with maps? What about the other apps? Calculator, weather, stocks?

Of course this all isn't special enough to create a whole new event about, but what about iPhone OS 4.0? Tuesday, the 30th of march, would be an excellent timing to announce a new iPhone OS and some new stuff and maybe, just maybe, a camera?

Discuss!

If Apple were planning an event for Tuesday, word of it would have leaked through the invited press by now. Don't hold your breath.

Hardware changes are not possible - we would know about them from the FCC filings. But I would expect some software enhancements or additions. Though we won't hear about them until a week from tomorrow, if they happen.

It has occured more than once that Apple invited the press just 2 or 3 days ahead. And the FCC hasn't publiced much because Apple asked to do so until the iPad was released.

More announcements of media deals is practically a given. I imagine their will be intentional leaks up until release, probably even through the first week to keep the hype going strong.

I'm prepared to be 100% wrong. But, generally, I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.

I'd have to agree here. The hardware is set. We are not going to see a camera or any other last minute change on the iPad. I would guess we will see plenty of software settings or unique (software) features that have been finalized or added/removed since the 1/27 keynote but it is what it is otherwise.

They're going to sell a camera kit to import photos. Nothing to do with taking photos on the iPad.

Definitely think they'll add the missing apps in future updates. Remember when Apple didn't even have the '+' button in Calender on iPod 1.1.1 :D

Maybe they already have the apps, just wanting to polish them more. Who knows...

The dude is right... Apple rolled out a few press released hyping it up leading up to the iPhone release. The thing though is that the iPhone was announced way back in January for a June release. Here it's only two months, so not much new is probably happening.

With that said, if stuff is going to be ready for the launch, magazine/book/app announcements would seem like a good idea.
