Ok I'm having a few issues, and I'm wondering if anyone else is getting them.

Streaming seems slower, that's a start. Metadata is there for each file, but tv episode descriptions not showing on the ATV2 for newly added files (after updates with Subler)
Chapters show on the movie summary on the ipad2 but chapter icon is gone when movie is playing?

Anyone else experiencing anything similar??

Gonna start with a pair of questions. How long have you had your ATV2? How did you go about your firmware update?

Ive had the Apple TV for several months now. Updated through the "Update Software" menu item of the ATV.

Also I am having a continual problem at the moment, whereby the ATV can detect iTunes running on my mac, but when I go to TV shows or Movies it tells me there is no content. I need to reboot iTunes to get it to work. Again only started happening recently!

I'm having this same problem. VERY frustrating.

There's a huge thread on Apple's support forums about messed of metadata and the various updates to iTunes and iOS.

I have many movies that I have put on my iPad that have the director info but are missing the movie description and the list of actors.

I saw some comments about long VS short description but I don't know what the current consensus on the issue.

It, for me anyway, started after the last update. It was working flawlessly before.

Same issues for me. However, since my MBP with iTunes is in another room (on another floor), I don't want to always go upstairs to quit/re-open iTunes when ATV can't find the content (movies, tv shows, etc.). I have found that from the ATV, you can simply turn off Home Sharing, then turn it back on again, and it will sort of "re-sync" with iTunes, and discover the content.

Score one for being lazy.

Yeah, but then you have to reenter your Apple ID and Password which takes forever. And my big issue is what happened to Apple stuff "just working"? My wife was home with a sick kid and had to call me at work to play a movie for her. It worked before... if they released a bug in the latest update they should fix it FAST! I don't know why the ATV is the red-headed stepchild fro Apple. I have two and they are one of my top tech gadgets around the house. I have over 150 movies in my library and the ATV gets daily use.

Yep. Having the same problem after the update. Clicking home sharing off and then on from the Apple TV menu seems to solve it but it's a bit annoying

Your ATV should remember the home sharing account info, which you still have confirm (ie. click "Yes"), but it's essentially a matter of clicking "Turn Off" then "Turn On" again.

Still really annoying though.

I just tested this... when I turn home sharing off as soon as I click turn on, it makes me put my Apple ID and password in and since it now can't be seen by the remote app on an iOS device, I have to enter it in with the little stick remote. It takes forever.

Good to know I'm not the only one! Hopefully a future update will fix it.

The other issue I'm having, although I cannot confirm that it's down to the updates, is that when two lines of subtitles are displayed, the bottom line is ever so slightly cut off the bottom of the screen. Not horrendous but pretty annoying!
