Hey guys... been wondering why my iPod touch (I think it's 4th generation) keep saying v6.1.5 is the latest. I manually tried to upgrade to iOS7 and it won't let me.

Thanks for any tips/tricks on this.

For the 4th generation iPod Touch, iOS 6.1.5 is the latest version of iOS. It cannot run iOS 7.

If you're wondering why, the low RAM (256mb) of the iPod touch 4g probably made Apple decide not to let iOS 7 onto it. Even the iPhone 4 with 512mb of RAM lags like crazy...

If you JB though, there are some themes that make it look like you're running iOS 7, but they generally slow down the iPod.

My 4S does reasonable well, but background apps refresh due to RAM.
Even my iPad 3 with 1GB of RAM runs low with iOS 7. For iOS 6, however, 1GB was quite roomy (for me at least).
