So I'm pretty frustrated/annoyed with apple. I've had a love/hate relationship with them for years. I'm coming from my 2013 27 inch imac with 2 thunderbolt displays which was my pride and joy for years. Finally gave in to the newest tech and purchased a mac studio.

Being a self proclaimed apple fanboy I admittedly knew zero about non apple monitors. Since the studio displays are backordered for months and I have an empty desk just sitting here with a useless mac studio I've been trying all kinds of monitor options to no avail. The scaling is horrendous and honestly, scaling aside, the plastic matte screens are kind of a let down.

So basically it appears that apple spoiled us all with their glossy displays, only to come out with a ridiculously priced/non adjustable studio display (unless you want to pay 400 more) that's not even in stock even if you were willing to spend it. I'm currently using the dell ultrasharp 3223qe 32 inch 4k, when I go back and forth from my macbook pro 16 to that it just looks bad but I'm trying to get myself use to it because I think it looks like one of the best aesthetically speaking.

I may try the 27 inch 4k in the same version and do a triple monitor setup that way since 3 of those would be almost the same as 1 studio display but how much worse will the scaling be on a 27 4k vs 32?

Sorry a lot of questions and sorry I'm venting lol. Long story short, does anyone have a legit replacement or even a 75% replacement for a studio display that doesn't completely suck and look like it came out of a gumball machine? Thanks.

So Just been playing around with the display options, for anyone with the same display I lowered the color temp to 500, turned hdr off, brightness all the way up, contrast all the way up and sharpness at a 50 and wow what a difference. The stock option was way too blue and fake looking. This looks much closer to a macbook pro on true tone right now. Give that a try if you're having the same issue as me and have the dell 3223qe 4k ultrasharp.

what's wrong with using your two TB displays until a 5K display becomes readily available?

what color space and connection are you using on the LG?
i've iseen n multiple places that LG recommends only using the their included cables with their displays.

Nothing wrong with it, just I guess since it's a new studio I wanted to get a new monitor to go with it. It' not an lg it's a dell ultrasharp 3223qe. I'm using the usb c to usb c it came with also.

I will get my Studio Display on Tuesday 😁
Been waiting 2 months for it and the Mac Studio came a month ago.
It is long wait time on them, just how it is now.

Might get better. But a lot of people want them of some reason.
If we are a long time Mac user, we all know we don't want anything else permanently.
I will probably order another display later.

I agree with others, order a Studio display, production might catch up.
It's for long time use, worth the wait.

Haha dude, I like your rant.

Just order a Studio Display. You might get it earlier.
You will be happy with it. We are spoiled :)
lol thanks, yea I'm so spoiled I can't be without my 3 monitors now. So the price for 3 studios isn't making me any happier either, considering it's just an imac screen.

I'm kind of liking this dell now that I messed with all the settings, it was way too blue and harsh out of the box. From the front it has almost no border, actually less than the studio display. But the rest is plastic etc. And it's a matte screen. Not a fan of matte. Idk why anyone would pay more for it unless they're literally doing work at the beach.

Like me and many others, sooner than later you are going to order the ASDs. Believe me, I tried to like the pair of LGs Ultrafine 4K 32UN880-B but been spoiled for 5 years by my 2017 iMac 5K Retina was impossible for me to get used to a matte screen with less than 218 PPI. So at the end, I got a pair of ASDs VESA Mount from Best Buy and returned the LGs to Costco, well in fact I returned only one and the oldest one is in my bedroom setup.

Nice, yea vesa would be the only way I would go as well. Non removable stand, no adjustable stand or 400 bux add on? Insanity. I was in the apple store yesterday they told me if you got the one with the stand and wanted to change it to a vesa option it would cost around 1000 dollars LMAO
