My wireless issues are almost cleared, but not quite. It's still happened a couple of times since the update.

My iPad came with the dreaded 3.2.1 FW installed so Im not aware of previous problems. No JB 4 me yet...:(

But Im actually surprised at the connection I have been getting.

I have an iPhone that has been a problem getting a good connection on my back deck which is at the other end of the house from where my router.

Yet my iPad seems to have a surprisingly strong connect at most times...

well its the Internet I use. Yeah it's wifi, but the TYPE of internet IS IN FACT fiber optic.

Okay, I hate to be the person who constantly corrects others, but there are no types of internet. The internet is a giant network of computers. Your ISP connects you to this network with fibre optic cables and you connect your iPad with a wireless connection.

To quote good old Ted Stevens...

"And again, the Internet is not something that you just dump something on. It's not a big truck. It's a series of tubes."

The iPad I've been using for work (16gb wifi only) has never seemed to have the wifi disconnect issues -- not sure why. I've used it on 4 diff wifi networks and have never seen a "Cannot connect" or disconnect.

your right. but i think he was referring to the type of internet speed :)

and that wireless connection connects to that fiber optic cable and that connects me to verizion/frontier (what ever it is now) and then to the "giant network of computers"

But seriously why waste time correcting people? This isn't Levi Anderson anymore.

So much for a poll thread... why don't you guys just PM one another eh?
OP: There are at least 2 other threads (both polls) on same topic. Please search.

Sometimes it's has less of a signal than my iPhone does, but it's much better than before. I think it's only in areas where there is a lot of things messing with the signal, like other WiFi networks on a similar channel. And of course, it works better at night.

I had signal issues where it would sporadically disconnect by itself in WIFI, but now the problem is gone with the patch :)

Because Fiber, ADSL, cable or whatever you use to connect to the Internet has absolutely no bearing on whether you have WiFi issues or not.

Sure it does. The radiostatic conglomerate consisting of nueromatic electrons of the fiber will affect the wifi.

Worked a charm.
My 3g 64gb ipad would drop my att gateway router (and several others that I tried) at least once a day with the launch day os. After update its been solid as a rock, not a single dropped connection.

Happily wifi-ing,

Tom

I havent run the update yet because I don't have any wifi problems worth updating.

and I have aol too! :D

Hi,

I have bought my iPad Wifi 64GB about a month ago, and I had no trouble at all with Wifi, I don't know if it's new version and the issue is solved (not sure), even with Jailbreak the Wifi stays connected all the time.

But with the new update, I haven't noticed anything difference, still I want to check the signal from longer distance from the router, to check if the signal is stronger then before as they promised ( I don't believe that a firmware will do that ).

Have fun with your iPad.
