Latest Vent for Mac good to go?

i play wow and haven't even tried vent for good long while.

i keep a windows box behind my macs for internet radio and had used vent on there just fine.

i did that because vent for mac was not very compatible with most of the servers i tried logging on.

is the new version of vent for mac good to go?

As long as they use the Speex codec I think they are. That's probably the issue you faced before too though.

I don't think so. Last time I tried it (couple of weeks ago) they still only supported one of the two codecs (I think only the speech). It sucks because the servers I typically play on are the opposite codec.

the information is starting to come back to me.

speex codec, yes, required for mac folk to be able to vent with windo peep

the problem was windo peep complained about problems with this codec.

i believe that sometime in the last several months since i tried using vent both mac and pc got a new version of vent for client side.

now this could mean that windo peep no longer have problems with speex codec so if the server was speex everyone happy.

and/or perhaps the speex codec has been fixed so windo peep no longer experience the issues previous

I use Vent everyday on my mac. I have version 3 of the Ventrillo client. We have a decent load of users on the server (about 30-60) every night. I know that our environment is mixed and we rarely have any issues with either macs or pcs. We do use the speex codec.

I have also used Teamspeak in a former guild. I feel that Vent preforms better, however, I was not disappoionted with TS.
