hello all,

today i decided to start writing my thesis,
but my group provides me with a latex template that i have to use.
the problem is that i cannot typeset-compile it,
because it is not able to locate some .eps files.

please find attached the necessary files,
the main .tex file is called "thesis.tex"

i would appreciate any help or guidance from you,
thank you

UPDATE : the .tex source compiles now when using the terminal.app, but now an error "undefined control sequence" appears at a point in the text that is very weird ... please help

I didn't download your file because your problem seems fairly easy to fix. You have to have the .eps files in the same directory as your .tex file that you're trying to typeset. If you do not have the .eps files, remove all reference to them in the .tex file.

actually, i had to fill in my personal details in order not to overfull some hboxes !

... SOLVED !

Glad you got it working.

I just wanted to say, that despite the complexities and initial learning curve, LaTeX was an absolute lifesaver when it came to writing my thesis. The file it produced looked absolutely professional and fit in perfectly with all the other academic publications (which are also all done with LaTeX) and it was so much easier to lay out my manuscript using separate plain text files, one per chapter, than it was to scroll through a huge Word document. Word also had the annoying habit of crashing and taking my document with it, which is what motivated me to switch to using LaTeX in the first place.

I used an OS X program call TeXShop, by the way, and another called BibTex to track my references.
