some questions about launch date, whenever it may be

1. What are the chances its released alongside Lion? (if answer is no to this question, then two separate answers for following questions.)
2. Will the air and lion launch in the U.S. first, like at the beginning of a U.S. day?
3. What time and in what time zone will they probably be released?

Because tomorrow at 8:30 AM ET is the likely launch for Lion and the Air, and it's on the main page.

Either the online store will be updated at 12AM PST or it will be launched locally/online at 8:30am EST. These two possibilities are the most likely ones. Of course something completely different could happen as well.

That is, if it is released tomorrow at all.

Well, everything is pointing towards it. Confirmed overnight tonight, promo materials, Lion in Apple stores, final version of Lion ready to go, etc.

That's the best you're going to get.

Is that a real possibility? I was hoping they would come out today, as I have to work tomorrow. I will have my break around 9 or 10 AM, so I can just order it then. No biggie, but it would be nice if it went up in the middle of the night.

Well, consider who you're asking.

People on the forum are likely to be far less in-the-know than the people operating the main page.

Also, your third question makes little sense. It will be released in every time zone that has an Apple Store or Reseller, at whichever time those stores open in that region.

It's a possiblity as in, it has happened before. However, whatever the main page says is obviously the most likely.

Eastern or Pacific time zone. Where do you live? 8:30 Eastern would be 5:30 Pacific.

Actually, I was kind of wondering the same.

Let's assume it gets released at 8AM EST on Wednesday 7/20. That would be 9:30PM the same day where I am, in Tokyo, Japan.

If my local store closes at 9PM, does that mean I have to wait until the next day to buy it? Or, does this mean my store will have it when it opens on Wednesday 7/20. (actually already 2AM 7/20 here)

In other words, does Apple honor the time differences? Will I be able to get my grubby hands on a new Air 12+ hours before you??

4. Do we know how many laptops each store gets? Is the number proportional to sales volumes?

5. If the launch happens at 8:00AM Eastern, but I travel West at 60mph, can I still buy a C2D, and if so, should I go by boat or motorcycle?

6. At the moment of launch, precisely how many cross-eyed insurance salesmen will be watching the Simpsons, in Russian, but not in Russia?

7. How many times, combined, will said salesmen wear purple in the following 29 days?

8. If the number from 7 is odd, is it safe to assume there is a golden rat in the center of the moon plotting our demise?

9. Does the asymmetry of the moon's mass distribution make for a detectable gravitational field in the rat's bathroom, and if so, does that cause practical challenges for the rat, and if so, how does the rat overcome these?

I want to guess anything that is released will probably be done so in Pacific Time since Cupertino operates in that time zone.
