iOS Launch Image won't go away?

So I had one application I was working on that was removed from my hard drive, alongside all of the supporting files. Now I have a product using the same name as the application that was removed.

For whatever reason, the launch image that appeared in the first application that was removed (from both my hard drive and testing device) will not go away. No matter what I set the launch image to be in the new application, I cannot get the former launch image to go away. The image is not located in the supporting files of my new applications - I am truly wondering where it draws it from.

Okay, well this was frustrating for a good like 45 minutes. What I learned was that deleting the application does not actually clear all of the data, even after a restart.

I used the multi-task switcher and cleared the old app (that was used in awhile) from memory. Only then would it go away. I figured deleting the app would do this for me. Hm.

Thanks if anyone looked at this in the like ten minutes after posting this that it took to solve it.

iOS 8.0.2. Sorry for the late reply! Would you consider that a bug?

Sounds like some weird Apple bug. You'd think that if you delete the app, that any opened state of it would be cleared.

Hope someone can figure out this weird (iOS8) caching...... my problem is similar but not the same.

I have a text file called "conversion.txt".... I updated the contents of the file, went to supporting files and removed the reference, and set the reference back to the updated version.

When I run in iOSimulator it shows the OLD data... there is ONE file on my computer with this name, and when in Xcode I open the file (double click on name under Supporting Files... there it shows the NEW data)

I have reset contents, deleted caches, shut down, restarted, searched the computer for another copy of the file.... there is NOTHING I can find to fix what should have never been an issue to begin with.

Have you tried cleaning the project (Product-->Clean, choose that while holding the Option key)?

The other thing to try is to delete the derived data. I'm looking at Xcode 5 right now. Under the Window menu I choose Organizer and then choose Projects, select the opened project, and choose the Delete… option for Derived Data. The for that will be recreated in a new state.
