Can someone describe the key differences between these apps now that they both support today widgets? I have downloaded Launcher (since it is free) and I enjoy it but I am not sure if LCP is a better experience or not.

One thing I did notice is that you only have to pay for Launcher once to use it on your iPad and iPhone. LCP is separate apps thus you have to pay twice.

FYI - I would be using this app in combination with Workflow.

It's easier to setup, but a lot of what it does is better when you're using the app itself. Because instead of having three buttons for doing three different things in one app, like "Compose", "Inbox", and "Search for #", you can stick that in one button with a popup list. None of that is usable in the Today widget.

So I would say that if you're happy with Launcher, then that's what you should stick to.

I'm also a daily user of Launcher (paid version) and did buy Launch Center Pro recently when they updated their iPhone app (their separate iPad app still doesn't support it) to see how their widget would work and if they support more apps. Unfortunately they don't if it regards the widget. The Launcher widget is so much further in comparison to LCP. LCP does have a huge database of app actions but if it regards the widget and simply launching an app it still lacks quite a few apps. It does offer a lot of features to do certain combination actions with various apps like Workflow can (which i'm also using).

I'm using Launcher widget daily and together with Workflow (which i use once in a while) it's a great combination.

Pros for Launcher:
- can reduce icons (only with paid in-app purchase)
- a lot more apps are supported to include within the widget (ofcourse you could still add these manually if you know the URL schemes, see a huge list here which we found throughout the recent months and submitted to Launcher)
- in my opinion easier to use
- cheaper one universal app for both iPhone and iPad (you can use the widget with both)
- the widget is soo much better with e.g. music launchers, special launchers

Cons for Launcher in comparison to Launch Center Pro:
-
it lacks a lot of app and app actions
- it lacks folders
- it lacks multiple app actions which Launch Center Pro offers

Cons for both:
- it lacks categories in the widget (like Quick-Tap has)

You could also try some great other alternatives (iLauncher, Go Launcher, S Launcher - all free and Quick-Tap (paid) see also here) but the majority of those still have a bug when you set the icons to the smallest size that you can't press the left icons (at least not on my iPhone 5s). Launcher resolved this matter with a few updates ago.
