I rebooted my PowerBook and everything is not the right color. It's all slightly bluish.

So, I go to the system preferences and try to re-calibrate my LCD.

It won't let me. EVery time I click on a different profile, I get my error noise. (sosumi, I love you.)

I tried to click on "calibrate" and I got the error message that is attached.

What do I do? The colors are really fracking with my eyes! The grey is too blue and the blue is too blue and the white is slightly grey!

:D Thanks.

Display profile problems like this can usually can be fixed by running the following from an administrator account:

Code:
/System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/CoreGraphics.framework/Versions/A/Resources/DMProxy
Does that do it to it?

YUP! thanks iMeowBot!

I thought I'd have to go to sleep, knowing my display was wonky, but now I can retweak it!

I seriously would never known to do that.

The first time it happened to me was the day after I read about the fix on another forum (macosxints maybe?). Whoever it was, it was very kind of them to anticipate my problem and find the answer before I needed it!

[edit: this must have been the one. ]

This happens to my MBP a lot when I use fast user switching. Switch to another user - no problem. Switch back to the original user - screen goes blue and "forgets" about the colour profiles.

Fixed by logging off completely/rebooting but it's still annoying.

An OS X thing yes? Hopefully a fix for it will come about.

I think so. It's not a biggie for me as I rarely use fast user switching. That's the only time I've ever encountered it. Log off and back on again and it's fine.

Just slightly annoying when it does happen.
