Yesterday the LCD on my iPhone cracked:

(Obviously doesn't look as bad because of the iSight shot) That is below the glass just in case it isn't that obvious.
I was prepared to live with this because I can't really afford to send my phone away for weeks just to get that fixed. However, today I tried to plug it in to charge it and it does nothing, won't charge, won't be recognised by the computer, nothing.
Now, who do I see about this? I live in Western Australia so the closest thing we have to an Apple store is a couple of resellers. Apple do not accept mail-in iPhones either. I brought the iPhone at a phone store (Allphones to be exact), can I take it back to them and try and get a replacement? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
