Don't know how up-to-date that website is but there is a few things I don't agree with.

It states that photos will appear more "glimmering" on a CRT than an LCD. I know the last CRT I had was awful for viewing photographs - they appeared dulled down. It was like comparing a photograph printed off on normal paper (CRT) and that of a photo printed off with photopaper (LCD).

Of course there is two different types of LCD finish - matte and glossy. None of which the website gives any information on.

I work part time in a retail store that sells TV's, laptops etc. I have seen a CRT TV and an LCD TV side by side. CRT may provide a more fluient image but it does not compete with the LCD's brightness or colour depth.

I'd say the comparison graph on that website is balls. Or out of date anyway.
 
agreed, however some of the test patterns and colour charts are useful for a quick check if your that way inclined
