Hi guys.
I have a two iPhone 5S, and one was repaired. Looks like that someone from repair-service changed a LCD panel to another one. Because now I see that proximity sensor is a blue color. From some web-sites I see that proximity sensor cover is missing. Camera is not centered and has a dust. Small window on left side from camera has a different size (mine has a smaller).

it only costs $129 at the apple store to replace a 5s screen!!! the real money to be saved is on replacing ipad screens, because apple has no screen only repair for iPads

some apple blog was saying you should repair the broken screens on the iPhones in your drawers and they recommend some place that was $20 more then what apple charges, and they even charge shipping!

I goes to repair-service with another issue (not for replace a LCD). But when I got it back I saw that LCD is different, has more scratches. Service-man told me that he will fix this. And said that LCD panels missed up and he replaced it to mine. But it has a blue window and etc strange things. I think he stolen my LCD and replace to the fake.

p.s. Average price (on local market) for LCD replace is about 65$.

i have square trade. i always buy square trade plans. Atlas the malamute was being a bad boy at the dog park and i dropped my iPhone 6s+ . Apple charges $149 for this screen. Square Trade no longer charges deductibles on any iPhone screen repairs as long as the genius bar replaces it. i got my entire 149 plus tax sent to me via paypal the next day

maybe the reason why its $65 is because they steal screens.

I've heard the apple store can detect a third party screen and void your entire warranty from 6' away because they are obvious

there was a rumor going around that apple puts ultra violet markings on their screens ,but i think thats not real

I see. But 5S works with fake screen without problem. This issue has only iPhone 6. What is it "square trade plan"?

i wouldn't touch a different screen if it meant voiding my warranty. yeah i suppose if your 5s is out of warranty then it's okay to save money? the 6 is a deal. its only $109 for a screen from apple

square trade is an extended warranty , www.squaretrade.com, it costs $99 for 2 years or $129 for 3. phones must be purchased in the last 30 days. if a phone is covered by a cellular company's insurance plan, the 30 day plan can be overridden. they also have an app that lets you enroll your phone on a month to month basis.

square trade is also doing renewals now for $89 each year last i heard

square trade doesnt charge deductibles on genuine screen repairs.

you can buy it at their website, staples, or from eBay, amazon or costco.

don't forget. if anyone has an phone and are worried about error 53, there is a new build 13D20 that you can get from itunes to prevent this from happening. its not over the air, you must use itunes.
