LCD Monitor for design/photography

I am a new member to this site. This one of my first posts. I am a graphic designer/photographer and have been thinking of getting an LCD display to connect my MacBook Pro laptop to when I'm working on design/photography stuff.

I have actually considered getting a 32" LCD TV and using a DVI-HDMI connection opposed to a computer monitor. This way I get a lot more for my money and can use the screen to watch TV and watch DVD's and BLURAYS when i'm not working.

Anyone thought about or done this?

I'd stay well away from a HDTV tbh if you want to use it for any sort of design/photography. Even as a hobby... Get a cheap 22" or 24" dell that will have HDCP through the DVI-D port for the image.

Also, not knowing your budget doesn't help either.

I would buy an HP 2475(W) LCD... it has an a-iPS panel in it and think it has great picture quality.
