So I'm finishing up on this website, which is to replace this website that somebody else did. I had to work with the content and images the client gave me, and was told to "make it edgy" which I'm not really sure how to do since I usually do pretty clean-looking sites.

Opine?

I think this belongs on the web design forum. Agreed, your site is too clean.

Too many straight lines and bright. I would have went for something dark and integrated some funky art.

I really only clicked this thread to comment on the atrocious butchering of French that is the title....but. I do have an opinion. I like the design you made it's much more useable than the previous design (which is uglY with a capital Y) but yeah I don't get edgy. I get 'bright' as well. One assumes by the radioactive symbol in the background and the previous site that the people want an 'urban' feel to their site? *grin* In any case, I like your design a lot but yeah I'd definitely at least change the color scheme a little if the client wants more edgy. Good luck!

It is a big improvement from the latter. I think you have a solid foundation for usability but do think it is a little bright and loud for an urban dance, edgy vibe. I am not too sure on the radioactive graphic, perhaps something along the lines of an inner city street scape, street corner, subway line, urban grunge or the likes. Things you see in MTV hip-hop and pop videos.

I kind of like the look and feel of this site -

perhaps it can give you some inspiration to refine the colours and overall feel of yours. I think this sort of feel combined with your foundation would work really well.

just my 2 cents

Yeah, same here. That kind of thing can't go unpunished. Prepare the guillotine!
As far as your site goes, it definitely looks better than the original, but it's still a bit corporate looking. I'd surf the web a bit for other sites like the one you're doing and see what's out there.
