Hello! So in the article about Instant Digital clarifing a rumor, MacRumors: «To illustrate, Instant Digital shared an image of a Face ID sensor assembly made up of three distinct modules mounted on a single flex cable: an infrared flood illuminator on the left, and a centered dot projector with an infrared camera to its right.», and attached this image

with written underneath: «Face ID module image shared by Instant Digital». By doing this it looks like if that were an actual image of the real iPhone 18 Pro notch components. In fact, I've seen many posts on various social medias also believe this image to be a real leaked image of the iPhone 18 Pro notch components.

But just by looking at it for a second it'll be clear that it's a photoshopped image just for reference. Look at those two black stripes under the selfie camera (right) that magically disappear under the IR projector (middle) and reappear betwren the projector and the IR camera (left).

So I cut the image and rearranged the components until it made sense and I got this:

Which is the iPhone 13 notch components:

So Instant Digital photoshopped an image of the iPhone 13 notch components just to show us what the iPhone 18 Pro notch should look like. The image was never supposed to be taken as a leaked image of the iPhone 18 Pro notch components.

It's funny how Istant Digital just clarified a rumor that was mistranslated and now we misunderstand the meaning of an image they posted

(I don't know if someone had already said this, and I know that it's kind of obvious, but given the amount of people I've seen call that image an actual image of the iPhone 18 Pro notch components, I wanted to clarify it.)

Cheers!

(I don't know if someone had already said this, I just wanted to clarify this as I've seen literally everyone believe Instant Digital's image to be the Face ID components of the iPhone 18 Pro.)

Those people would be, to put it politely, not smart.

Who the heck would think these are actual images? That they'd be so clear and sharp. Of course they're Photoshopped to communicate the idea.

Nobody is allowed to bring phones into the production area. All scrap materials and parts are collected and accounted for. So the chance of a clear photo of the part this early is virtually zero.
