It finally happened. I was stuffing a couple bags into my building's trash chute, when my watch popped right off and landed... just... on the edge.

If I'd been a second slower, I'd have lost my $800 stainless S6.
Last time I ever wear a leather link. Wonder if I could talk someone braver than I am into trading a brown leather loop for my brown link.

Yikes! Glad the end result wasn’t worse!

When the first pictures of the leather link leaked last summer, I actually thought they were fake because the band has just a single point of failure. Every other band Apple sells has at least two points that have to fail in order for the watch to fall your wrist. For the sport band, you have to untuck the excess band and then pop the pin out. The sport loop is even more secure since you have to undo all 5 velcro pads and then loosen the band enough to slide it over your wrist. With the leather link, pull the magnets apart and...that’s it.

Yeah. I had thought the magnets would be, like, super strong or something, but they're really... not. My hunch is that this line of bands isn't going to last long.

Are you wearing with the overlap on the inside or outside of your wrist? I wear it on the inside which seems to promote less chance of catching it. But also I have a lot of overlap due to skinny wrists, so that also helps!

Glad it didn’t end horribly though!!

Similar experience with a knockoff one. Not my kind of band.

Good call. I’m gonna start doing that. It’s a bit harder to put on that way, but I guess it’s worth it.

Yeah it’s a bit of a fiddle initially. I lay the watch face down on my leg to do it. I can get a good right fit really quickly and easily now.

That is exactly what I thought when I first saw the pictures, too!

Thank you, @paultopia, for spreading the word. I’m glad that you didn’t learn the hard way, lol.
