The small one goes to 7.3"
The big one starts at 7.1"
I'm 7.2"

Which would you suggest?

That's difficult to make that assessment. I would suggest the leather loop that has more room in case your wrists swells, which you would want to have some extra space.

Remind me -- does it come only in one size or the other?

On my sport band, I can wear either the S/M or M/L straps, so I chose to wear the S/M size which leaves less overhang (or "underhang", as it were).

And +1 to what Relentless Power said -- the larger size will also have more leeway in case it slips (which shouldn't be a problem anyway, but just that extra assurance would be nice).

Are we talking Apple branded leather loops?

Yes. I haven't seen references to knockoffs that look appealing though I haven't tried as hard as I might. I'm open to suggestions.
[doublepost=1516295483][/doublepost]I suppose I could just go to the store.

There are the Hermes leather loops, although I am not sure sizes for those. However, they are a bit more pricey. However, going back to the subject, like others have said before me, go with the bigger band.
