Hi all,

I got the MBA not that long ago:), and naturally, i wanted to protect my investment, so i started Googling for a sleeve for it. I came across This site and they seem to stock the Shuky leather sleeves. Now, doing a bit more research, i came across http://www.shuky.com which seems to be the designer. I'm thinking about getting one, but the thing is i don't know which colour to go for .... they have it in the classic manila beige, tan, black, glossy red and glossy white.....

By the way, how do i start a poll?

Thanks in advance guys,

B

If you don't have a 7 figure salary I'd stay away from the Vaja...lol.

Thanks for the alternatives..... Vaja is quite expensive.... and they don't seem to have closeup shots...
As for the CEO one..... i think i'd prefer the original manila envelope look :apple:....

I know everyone likes the vaja cases, but I just purchased an Air Manila from Civilian Labs. The build quality is incredible. It's padded perfectly and even has snap buttons and the tie closure. I can tell this thing is going to keep my Air in perfect condition.

It's a little on the pricey side ($64 after shipping) compared to something like an Incase, but it's a lot cheaper than the Vaja cases. It is real leather and looks very professional. It is also sized perfectly. There is no space on either side of my Air.

And, it has that "manilla envelope" look without being obnoxious.

You can find it here:

I couldn't recommend it enough.

I got the incase black neoprene sleeve from the apple store for 40$. Some people say it doesn't "fit" but it fits like a glove so I don't know what they're talking about...they probably got defects. No complaints about the sleeve. Not as professional as leather, but still very neat.

I bought this one as well and I would never recommend it besides for its price point. Took me forever to figure out how to get it in and take it out and even after I thought I had the best method it was still a pain. I took it back to the store. Terrible design although the lack of zippers did have good intentions.

I have the CEO Envi myself, it matchs my incase sleeve for my iphone (friend pointed it out to me). I was impressed, the leather was much higher quality of leather than I was thinking it was going to be.

The fit is snug which I like, has some padding but would not protect the MBA if you dropped it. I have also found that it will double as a laptop pad. It is stable enough so that it does not block the cooling vents on the bottom. I was in a hurry one day and flipped the sleeve over and it worked.

For the price wonderful sleeve.

I was also after a leather sleeve for my mba but soon changed my mind when I found the designs from working class heroes (they've changed the name to hard graft by the way). I chose the laptopwallet envelope for it's mba custom fit. The sleeve is actually made from 100% wool felt in such a perfect grey and then they use brown leather for detailing. These two materials together are made for each other and although the felt is pretty thin it's really dense and feels like it would protect my laptop for more than a few knocks.

Saw that one..... i don't know... i've had felt sleeves before, and found that the residue over time just made it into the vents...... so i'm a little reluctant to go down trhat road again

Huh? What do you mean? It goes in so easily. Takes three seconds. Step 1 = insert MacBook Air Step 2 = ?? Step 3 = Profit (lol, jks)
Seriously, what's so hard about putting it in? Mine works fine.

Man some of you guys shell out serious money for a sleeve/case! I bought a 30 some odd dollar one from the computer store on my college campus. It wasn't designed specifically for the MBA but it fits close to perfect. Its from STM bags (stmbags.com.au) Its made out of some memory foam type of stuff.

I have the civilian labs sleeve as well. I really like it, although I'm debating getting a vertical bag (like the vaja or stm) as well. My only gripe about the civ sleeve is that it's a little bulky. On the other hand, I think it does a great job of protecting the MBA.
