I leave my iMac on 24/7 mainly because I charge my iPhone overnight on the computer.

Is it ok to leave the iMac on 24/7? The display is set to turn off after fifteen minutes of non-use. I would use sleep mode, but unsure if the USB ports stay powered on to allow the iPhone to charge whilst the imac is in sleep mode.

Buy the power brick maybe? And give the iMac a break?

Probably healthiest for the computer, and for your electric bill.

I leave my iPhone plugged into my MacBook overnight while it's in sleep mode and it does charge while the computer is sleeping. You should plug your phone to your iMac and put the iMac to sleep and test if it continues to charge it.

Why don't you check whether the computer charges your iPhone or not?

It should be. Even my MacBook charges my iPod in sleep mode. FireWire was far better though... because connecting/disconnecting iPod didn't wake up the computer.

Lol, Well I have finally decided to test it, and yes it does charge during sleep mode! Thanks guys, I do not know why I didn't just do this sooner, I probably need to fix my laziness problem now :D
