Hello,

I was just curious as to whether leaving my 2017 MBP plugged into the charger, while I'm at home is a good/bad idea.

I know that nowadays, it is said to not affect the battery life as the laptop starts using AC charge instead of battery power, but I just wanted to know your opinions/experiences.

Thanks!

Just take it off the charger once a week and bring it down to around 75%. Let it cool down in sleep mode for a while then pop it back onto the charger.

It may not be perfectly optimal. That should be good enough. For it to have a long life.

To be honest, beside the fact that you can leave it plugged, I also give to myself this answer. I spent so much money on these computers to get comfortable too. So at the end, the best way to use it is the one that's more comfortable for you without worrying too much. Imho.

It won't hurt a thing to leave it plugged in all the time. Running it down for no reason just needlessly uses up charge cycles and does not accomplish anything.

Here is some info from Apple that might help you.

Alright, thanks a lot for the information and links!
