Ok, can some tell me what exactly is going on with the New LED displays? What the defect is, and which LCD is the one with the problem? I just got a MBP 2.4ghz, 2gb, 160 gb Matte. How do I find out if the display I have is the one with all the problems?

Do you notice any problems? If not, then it doesn't have any problems. Don't go looking for them. That just makes things worse.

I think it looks great. I have the display ID that everyone says is the better one. It does look yellowish when viewed off angle, but when looking directly at the display it seems to be really nice. Its just that the thing cost $2500.00 and if the display is defective I would want a new one. But overall it looks really nice.

I guess my real question is, at what point are people being just too damn picky.

Sounds to me like your computer is fine. All SR MBPs will look yellow at an angle.

It's hard to draw the line where people are "too picky," since it's understandable that when people are paying 2500 dollars for a machine, they want it to be perfect.

But most of the problems people are complaining about are legitimate problems that Apple should take notice of.
