LED screen reliability

Can anyone point me to reports on long-term use of portable LED monitors? I think the new MBP screens are amazing, but I am somewhat risk-aversive, and wonder if this new screen technology has been proven to last as long as conventional laptop screens.

They should be hardier and longer lasting that traditional screens. Traditional screens use a fluorescent backlight that will naturally get dimmer over time before failing completely. LEDs do not get dimmer and have a much longer life. In addition they don't need the same amount of power so the inverter board can be simpler and more reliable.
