So I've been seeing if I can live with my Samsung panel that has the yellow gradient issue we've seen so many posts about. My main field is audio, although I also do graphic design for my record label and am also an amateur photographer.
I'm so torn - my screen exhibits a clear uneven-ness, with a darker, yellower band in the bottom third. It's not immediately noticeable, in fact my girlfriend who is also a professional graphic designer didn't notice until I pointed it out. When I move a white window from the top to the bottom of the screen the clear difference in brightness is immediately noticeable, and she agrees.
I have to say it's not awful by any means, in fact the overall brightness, contrast and sharpness is wonderful - but I am a perfectionist, and just when I try to ignore it, I do notice it again.
I have to decide in one more day as I will soon be leaving the country and will not have a chance to return it.
My dilemma is this: what if I get a worse one? Besides the screen issue and a 3mm warp in the lid (I hear this is on almost all of them) and its usual Alu-Mac-laptop heat (worse than I thought it would be, worse than my old 1 Ghz TiBook) I think it's a perfect machine. Battery seems good, keys are all flush, not weird noises, no other cosmetic faults.
I couldn't take my only chance of a return bringing me something worse....
What would YOU do? Help me decide, please!
