Hey guys, sorry to sound so newbish, but I am new to the whole mac thing. I am loving my macbook and I just finished putting windows on it today. My brother wants me to game with him on Left 4 Dead by Valve. My question to you is will my macbook meet the system requirements for this game and be able to play online with him? My macbook is the 2nd newest gen I believe. It is the White one. I have 2 gigs of ram and an upgraded hard drive but nothing else has been touched. Thanks guys!

So, your Macbook has the Intel GMA X3100?

Technically, your laptop meets the requirements, but I doubt performance will be very good.

Unlike other Source games (HL2, Counterstrike: Source, TF2, ect), I don't think you can drop the Direct X level to 7 or 8. The game does require a DX9 video card, which you do have a DX9 GPU (it's not a video card, since it's integrated).

My point is, the game should run, but you're going to have to crank down all the settings, possibly even the screen resolution, depending on what level of performance is acceptable to you.

L4d!

I have a version 2.2 intel macbook pro and it works like butter. I max out the resolution and it runs smooth! You may have issues because you have an integrated graphics card. Hope you have 4GB of ram. :)
