Has anyone actually managed to get it running under OS X? It's basically the only reason I boot into Windows, and would like to eliminate that.

Tried Crossover and steam works but Left 4 Dead just gives black screen. Haven't tried Fusion or Parallels yet, so figured I'd ask before wasting time with it.

I know there's some Cider port, but it's just a cracked single player copy, and I want to play on Steam with my purchased copy.

There are all sorts of issues with it under Crossover so frankly I wouldn't bother. Technically it will run under Parallels/Fusion but it'll be very slow, even on minimum graphics settings. If you want to play it the way it should be enjoyed then Bootcamp is the only real way. Don't forget L4D 2 will soon be giving you another reason to boot into windows.

This holiday season! :D

if you game a lot i suggest get another HD for your windows partition only and take good care of it because as long as the gaming industry doesnt reform or change (not the way that activision sees it mind you) there will always be a reason to install Vinboze

The latest version of Crossover Games says Left 4 Dead is now a supported game, so you could give it a try.
