I have the AirPods first gen. I've noticed recently that my AirPods will periodically disconnect. Most of the time, it's just the left AirPod. Below is a list of what I'm doing when it disconnects, ranked from most frequent to least frequent

  1. Using Google Meet/Zoom
  2. On a phone call
  3. Listening to podcasts/watching videos
When it disconnects, I have to put it back in the charger, wait, and then put it back in my ear. And sometimes it doesn't always connect back right away. I have already tried resetting the AirPods, but it didn't seem to fix it. The AirPods still have battery when it disconnects. FYI, I also clean the AirPods with blue sticky tack periodically. Not sure if that could affect the connection, and if so, what I can do.

I have tried disabling the mic on the left AirPod and I think it helped a little bit more, but not completely.

Any ideas?

Happens to me too, on top of my AirPods only lasting around an hour these days anyways, the left one will bug out at around 30 mins or so at the longest. Very annoying, wish I could keep this pair a little longer but may have to snag a new pair since I haven't been able to find any way to fix em besides a new battery. May as well just upgrade at that point since new batteries are almost the same price.

I've done this about 100 times, tried everything I can think of or have read, nothing seems to work:(
So my guess you are screwed unless you can find an Apple Repair Center which accepts mail-ins, even if it's a 3party (but authorised repair center).

Happened with my first pair of AirPod Pros. Apple just swapped them out for me, so if you’re still under warranty then I’d contact them.

Same here! Left AirPod only. Confirms this also happens with the PowerBeats Pro left one as well. Going on for months now.

Just ordered a new pair it's on it's way from China as we speak. I'll just take care of em better and not exercise with them, the left one was basically hopeless so I blew in it too, tons of ear wax came out the vents...gross but perhaps that's the issue lol

I've had the right one in for 45 mins tho, only at 53% (way longer than they'd last together) so I'll salvage this one that seems to work better and last longer till the new pair gets here:)

Exactly what's happening to me. The left, the same thing.. and with the same order:
  1. Using Google Meet/Zoom
  2. On a phone call
  3. Listening to podcasts/watching videos
What did you do? I've done everything already. 100x.
It started march-april...
