After having used the original AirPods for years with no issues I decided to pick up the pros a couple weeks ago. Looks like the left one has already died. It won't connect to any of my devices, even after resetting them. Looks like I'll be contacting Apple :(

Has this happened to anyone else here?

Edit: Just paid the deposit for a replacement to be sent out. ETA for delivery is 1 month ?

With all the issues I'm seeing here about Pros having problems I'm glad I opted for the AirPods 2.

It's a shame because after pulling out my old AirPods it was immediately obvious how much better the pros sound. Plus the noise cancellation is really nice. I think I'll get a replacement and hope it was just a one time thing.

If the Pro's design is any chance the AirPods line will eventually standardize to that design over the past designs (that resembled EarPods minus the wires) then perhaps the Pros today are just having Gen 1 errors? The second generation is always the more perfected version...

I prefer the older design myself since they fit my ears better and I don't like anything inside my ears like the tips the Pros use. So when my AirPods 2 die from battery wear I'd hope there's a new version that has their design. I don't need ANC or care about audiophile level sound. Most of my music is in MP3 format.

Have you tried the pros out? I've always had the same issue with in-ear buds never fitting right in my ear. They'd always fall out. But the pros fit fine. The tip doesn't really go in your ear much, it functions more as a seal :)

They remind me of the Gear Circle's tips. I never have been fond of 'in ear' style. That's why I always preferred the old EarPods and the AirPods 2 remind me of those--perhaps the most comfortable buds I've worn. Never even know they're there which has me checking to be sure I haven't lost a pod!

I can't tell you how many times I've fallen asleep with them in my ears and have to spend a few minutes searching my bed for them the next morning :p

For me it's during exercise and walks in the middle of the woods or on a trail. I'm always checking them and probably look like some wacko to any animal or human who sees me on the trail! Eventually I just stop and enjoy and figure one would beep if I dropped one. or the music would stop.

Yeah, my right one died as well. Would charge to 100% then die within 20 minutes. I should have my new setup today. It's terrible how we get so attached to the wireless pros lol, going back to the wires for a week sucked! Mine only lasted two months exactly!

I had an issue last night where I took my airpods out of the case and the left one was not showing as charged. I did remove and re-add them from my phone and it did seem to correct them. What was also weird was I changed one of the eartips and could not hear anything out of that side. Switched back to the smaller size and it worked just fine. Never had an issue where one tip was hosed.
