Left for Dead 2 - Disable censorship on Aussie Version

Since seeing a video of how Left for Dead 2 is supposed to look, I can't bring myself to play the Australian censored version anymore, feels like such a rip off!

Anyone out there know a way to disable the censorship on Mac? I know people have done it with Windows http://ashleyangell.com/2009/11/enabling-gore-in-the-censored-aussie-version-of-the-l4d2-demo/

Too right it's insane. The gore-less version is laughable when you compare it even to other Valve games like Half Life 2. Personally, I think HL2 is more violent and horrific than L4D2. Headcrabs are way scarier than human rabies

EDIT: Not to mention that the correct response to a zombie apocalypse scenario is to go mental with a shotgun, not to bake cookies.

But headcrabs have green blood, so they don't have to censor that.

Based off other games by Gearbox and other companies they actually have a completely different data set for censored regions so it will be likely fairly tricky to get a hack to work.

Due to scandals like "Hot Coffee" leaving in uncensored data even if it is never used is dangerous as the press can go crazy if someone makes a mod to turn it back on so they usually just make a censored only data pak.

BioShock in Germany for example is a separate DVD from the rest of the world and only contains censored data.

So instead of blocking the offending data, as a rule they are removing it? Hot Coffee was a joke. Here is a game GTA:San Andras about murdering and stealing (which is ok), but the officials have a conniption fit when a R rated sex game is discovered on a Mature Rated game. Such hypocrisy.

Removing it keeps you safe against the conservative media who will take any excuse to have a go at games and game makers. I agree it is hypocrisy but you need to play it safe, and the safest way is make sure the data is not included.
