We are creating stuff in iPad Pro & PC, but wish to have it accessible & tested on the low end old iPads.

----

Legacy App or Way to Sync / Push folders (eBooks/ PDFs & audio/ video) Wirelessly to Legacy iPad (iPad 2/3) we have in family, from a PC/ iPad Pro?

* Anyone have a common app that works between both a recent iPad/ or iPad Pro to SYNC Wirelessly between the two via local WiFi network or via Cloud?

* I tried opening Dropbox and it keeps crashing outside of Airplane mode.

* Maybe a Media/ Content Viewer that leverages / can connect to DropBox or other Cloud Services?

I'd like to just push or sync some folders of eBooks/ PDFs & audio/ video Wirelessly from a PC/ iPad Pro to the older iPad 2 or 3 that we have in the family.

Documents or File Browser app and Windows/SMB share on desktop or whatever is equivalent on Mac?

I seem to recall GoodReader has SMB support as well so that might be fine for PDFs and I think it's also usable for other file types.

Sorry, we got rid of our iPad 3 four years ago.

SMB Share? That's still around?

I have the Documents app, but its DropBox/ G Drive extensions dont seem to be working anymore with Cloud.

I had side loaded a copy of GR to test it out, and it opens, but I'll have to check if it can connect out.

Any such that handle/ play video etc?

Cloud is going to be iffy since the APIs can change.

Infuse works with SMB shares. I just don't know if there's an older app version that will work with iOS 9. I only use it to watch from the local NAS. It can download videos but since the NAS stores full quality 25-80GB Blu-ray and 4K UHD rips, not really practical to keep those on the iPad.

I still use Marvin 3 (abandonware) for my EPUB reading. It can download from Dropbox and it works on iOS 9. EPUB only though. Can't use it to download/read other file types. Reading progress and bookmarks are synced via iCloud (not annotations, though) but changes in iOS 15 could potentially break that.

Maybe you can also try FBReader? I know that one can even sync between Android and iOS via Google Drive and looks like it still supports iOS 9.3.

I know. This rapid changing tech is breaking some "works great" simple stuff.

I think I have some of these similar ones. Will have to test them out and see what still works fine.

Yeah, the best from Mobile Read times :) Afraid what will happen next..

Probably Lee, I think. MR is where I got that idea. I don't really use FBReader myself. I'm holding on to Marvin until it just fails to work.
You and me both, friend. I've even emailed the developer a year or so ago asking for a paid update, fork the codebase so someone else can update it, anything. Completely abandoned app, no response. I have tried so many epub readers and none are as full-featured as Marvin 3. It'll be a shame when it stops working.
