As some of you know I upgraded to the iPhone 8 Plus (Verizon) the day it came out. I came from the Galaxy S7 Edge. I am experiencing an issue that I have never experienced before, having owned iPhones and Android phones.

My father has a flip phone. I have always been able to text him just fine. Since getting my iPhone 8 Plus, he is not receiving text messages from me correctly. Some he only gets half of the text, others punctuation has changed, and sometimes he doesn't get a message at all. I receive his messages fine. I have not had a problem messaging anyone else.

Anyone experience this or know what it could be?

I got a text from another iPhone user in a paragraph as an iMessage then it came again as a text message in 5 separate messages but everything was in the right order just broken up. BTW I have a new iPhone 8

turns out it's a problem with my dad's phone. just coincidentally started happening around when i got my 8 plus. he's now receiving all messages weird. basically if an sms has any punctuation in it he receives it all screwed up.

It has something to do with ios 11. The only people who text my father are myself, my mother and my sister, all of whom have iPhones now. He noticed it as soon as we all had ios 11.
