Long story, i will try to sum it up. I had issues with my iphone "home" button... I called Apple and they helped me out after calling back and forth between Rogers ans Apple tech support. They shipped me a replacement. When the replace arrived it said, invalid SIM contact your carrier... 9itunes error) After approx 4 hours on the phone to Rogers ans Apple again... Apple said that they will ship me a new iphone! Now a week later the 2nd one arrive and guess what the same issue!! 2 phones will not work with my Rogers SIm, i got a new SIM still no dice. I went to a Rogers store and a Fido store, my SIM worked on the guys iphone at the rogers store, no luck with FIdo. Both stores said the phone was not for their network. After all this mess i got one of the phones working VIA jailbreak and a smartsim apadtor...

My question is should i not worry now about this issue or should i get a legit working model fror my carrier?

Will the smartsim/ sim shim go bad?

Apple is willing to send me a Brand new iphone, they say it will be the right one...

Rogers will swap me for a refurb... God knows it may be a heap of crap...

What do i do???

You should get a legit working model for your carrier. DO NOT rely on sim card adaptors because they are unreliable, and furthermore will not work with firmware 2.2 as the baseband has been updated (for the 3G). Besides, if you have a legit contract with Rogers, why would you want to put up with a sim card adaptor.

If Apple are willing to send you a new one, go for it.

Well at least i found out what was going on... Both iphones sent from apple were for ATT. I found the model number, not for Rogers. They are now sending me the proper phone, fingers crossed.....
