Never really messed w/iphoto at all, but iMovie is having some nonhardware related issues on some rigs for some reason. I messed around w/it a bit and it worked fine for me. A bit slow to load (and slow again the first time you press the "audio" button), but I think that has to dow/it getting info from the other iApps.

I just got a digital camera tonight (Canon Elura 40MC), worked instantly and perfectly out of the box with iPhoto 2 (my first experience at importing directly to iPhoto). It does videos, too but they're AVI so iMovie can't edit them unless I convert to DV (which I don't really want to do). Image Capture also is great because it can grab the movies off of the camera and put them in the appropriate movies folder. (I wish iMovie 3 was a little more format supportive) :D

TIGHTLY integrated. It really is a thing of beauty how well integrated these apps now are.

I think Apple added some new codecs for iMovie. I used to not be able to import the movies that took on My Fujifilm FinePix 40i which is a Dig Cam that takes these 90 second movies it has some wierd codec required to import it but now iMovie imports them fine. Which was cool.

I like how iMovie doesn't take up the whole screen like it did before. This was actually the first time I made a complete "movie" with sound and transitions, etc... It was easy and very cool.

I don't know what others have experienced, but my iBook is having trouble rendering things in both iMovie and iPhoto. In iMovie, the Ken Burns effect (so cool otherwise) is choppy, even after rendering everything. In iPhoto, I cannot render the slideshow dissolves in Millions of Colors smoothly. I was able to do this in iPhoto 1. The system specs are in my sig.

I think these issues have to do with my graphics card (only 8MB), but any help would be appreciated.

Or maybe you coulda tried asking me for a free computer. i have a lot if you want them.

Why a dual 1.42? i thought you told me that you'd rather wait for the powerpc 970.

Hey if jacob doesn't take your iBook i'd love to. in fact i'd love to have any apple thing that belongs to you.
