Recently purchased LEGO:Batman for the Mac and using an XBOX360 controller to play which all works very nicely I have a question. In game when it tells you about button pushes etc it calls them Button 1, Button 2 etc etc, is there anyway to get it to show these as what they should be as in A, B, Y, etc etc ?

Just wondered.

LEGO Batman 2 is OK it shows the controller buttons correctly.

I had the same question a while back. Every lego game I have played on mac shows button 1,2,3 etc. I would love to get it to display the buttons correctly.

I believe the Mac Lego games only work in directinput mode and not xinput. In Windows I can use Xinput and the buttons are displayed properly. Other (non lego) mac games work in xinput and display the buttons correctly.

I emailed feral regarding this but I can't remember the exact response. It may be worth emailing them. I would be interested to know what they have to say.

I have just tried out Lego Batman 2 on my mac and it shows button 1,2,3... like all the other Lego games I have played. I wonder why it is works for you on that game.

I guess you use the tattiebogle Xbox 360 Driver? Do you use anything else for the controller?

Please give an update when you hear back from Feral.
Thanks!

I use the Tattiebogle Xbox360 driver, Xbox360 wireless controller and the microsoft USB wireless gaming receiver.

Ferals response.

Thank you for your purchase of LEGO Batman.

This game was developed before we implemented specific on-screen prompts for the Xbox 360 controller, so unfortunately there is no way to force the game to use the specific prompts for your controller.

I hope that this is not too discouraging and hope that you enjoy the game.

Hmmm! Well I wonder when they actually started to implement the on-screen button prompts.... because every single Lego game I have played shows buttons 1,2,3 instead of the correct prompts - X,A,B,Y etc
I have played many lego games on the mac including the oldest lego game (Star Wars) and the newest lego game (Jurassic World).

Out of interest - have you tried any of the newer Lego games (after Batman 2) on mac with your controller and does the button prompts show correctly for you?

Sorry I do not have any later LEGO games on the Mac as yet, but maybe somebody else here has and can answer that question.
