Ok so I purchased the 2.4ghz MBP from my local college bookstore and I have been having tons of problems with it. First, the logic board had to be replaced coz something fried. Now, I cannot install Leopard because it gives me a kernel panic about halfway through the installation and also I just noticed that I have some weird looking banding going on at lower brightness levels.
Does anyone know why I at least cant install Leopard?
I tried to do the archive first and that didnt work, then i tried twice with a clean install. Nothing is on my OSX partition and its not working.
Should i try creating a small partition and putting the install disk on that and installing that way?
Ive had this computer for like 4 months and have been having WAY more problems than I hear my buddies having. Whenever I reboot the comp (after this failed install), I get a 3-pulsing light on the sleep indicator and it doesnt allow me to do any boot commands. I have to remove the battery for like 5-10 minutes until it works again. Anyone have a similar experience? What should I do?
I have applecare and I already took it in for service and it was gone for a week. I dont really have that kind of time, being a student, to waste on getting a computer that should function well out of the box repaired. Any suggestions?
